Editorial introduction

For international families, this is one of the most accessible large-scale events for trying the tea ceremony. It offers tea sessions explicitly provided with English interpretation, as well as children’s tea sessions designed for children and parents. Historic buildings, traditional crafts, candy artistry, and performances also make it possible to connect the tea ceremony with Tokyo’s traditional culture in a single visit.

  • Children’s tea ceremony: 1 guardian per 1–2 children. Children may not participate unaccompanied
