What the days look like

Published materials describe about 15 hours of project-based English a week, with activities and full-day study tours. The 2026 sample has breakfast at 08:00, morning lessons or trips, afternoon activities, house time and evening games. Sample weekly teaching hours vary with trips and arrival days.

Parents, accommodation and transport

Children stay in campus boarding accommodation with full-board meals and shared bathrooms; houseparents provide support. Designated airport transfers in the published time windows are included. From Tokyo, allow a long-haul journey plus the onward transfer to Banbury; confirm airline age rules separately.

Why it is in this guide

A separate primary-age English course with a longer documented history: official 2024 material, 2025 timetables and a 2026 tariff show repeated operation. The age minimum comes from Bell's course specification, not the host school's ordinary admissions age.

Who it may suit

Children aged 7–10 who are ready to stay away from parents and want English lessons alongside organised activities. Families can compare a one-week first experience with a longer course, allowing for long-haul travel fatigue.

What to weigh up

This is supervised residential English, not a parent-and-child stay. Confirm the current junior bedtime, room allocation, homesickness support and communication plan. A historic inspection is useful evidence but does not establish the exact staff or arrangements for the next summer.

Operating history and evidence

No detailed, dated independent parent account specific to this 7–10 course was verified. The British Council's 2024 report praised attendance monitoring at Tudor Hall but found a supervision weakness at the separate Leys centre; its updated report says the requested remedial evidence was later submitted. This is inspection evidence, not a parent review or a guarantee.

Before you book

Obtain the 2027 calendar, current terms, room arrangements and transfer window before buying flights. Earlier booking terms specify a separate refundable £50 damage/key deposit, card/payment charges and insurance exclusions for pre-existing conditions. Confirm these rather than treating the 2026 example as a new quote.

Cancellation and refunds

The available 2025 booking form retains £385 deposit plus £95 registration for cancellation more than six weeks before the course; one to six weeks costs 60% of course fees plus registration; under one week, non-arrival or early departure has no refund. This is a dated reference: the applicable next-edition terms were not verified.
