Global Step Academy International School — Tachikawa Campus

GSA Tachikawa offers an English-immersion Main Program from Pre-K through K3, K4 and K5. IEYC themes and play connect learning across subjects, while Jolly Phonics/Grammar supports early reading and writing.

Admissions & ages

The campus lists entry from 18 months until primary-school age. Group admissions guidance instead says age 2, with around 22 months negotiable, so confirm the actual minimum. Birthday cutoffs are unpublished. Parents need not speak English. Pre-K includes toilet training; older classes’ requirements are unclear. Applications are accepted year-round, but complete assessment procedures and vacancies are unconfirmed. School-reported priority application and entry-fee benefits at KA International School and United School of Tokyo do not guarantee admission.

Curriculum & language

Daily communication and lessons use English except for a separate Japanese subject. Japanese includes kana, culture, stories and songs; its frequency is unconfirmed. Mathematics, science, social learning, arts, music and physical activities use English. This is English immersion with Japanese provision, not a promise that no Japanese is used.

Schedule & care

The full-time programme runs Monday–Friday, 9:00–14:30. Early care is 8:00–9:00; afternoon care is 14:30–18:00. Seasonal programmes are separate; the full school calendar and holiday-care availability remain unconfirmed.

Campus & daily life

Address: 6-14-26 Shibasaki-cho, Tachikawa. The school quotes 10 minutes on foot from Tachikawa Station or 1 minute from Shibasaki-Taiikukan. Paid buses are listed, but exact stops, ages and extended-care returns need confirmation; Takahatafudo appears in the campus overview but not the current fee sheet. Packed lunches, snacks and individual allergy arrangements are unconfirmed.

Fees & extras

The currently linked bilingual sheet is labelled 2026 in Japanese and 2026–27 in English. Entry is JPY 150,000; monthly tuition JPY 98,000. Annual facilities, materials and miscellaneous charges are JPY 125,000, JPY 125,000 and JPY 70,000, totalling JPY 320,000; the annual-fee column specifies December. Optional lunch costs JPY 12,000 monthly, booked by the 20th two months beforehand. Monthly care packages include early care and after-school care until 17:00 for JPY 50,000 or 18:00 for JPY 60,000; ordinary early/after-school spot care is JPY 700 per 30 minutes; PD-day care is JPY 800 per 30 minutes. Billing months, tax and refunds are unconfirmed, so no verified all-inclusive annual total is available.

Support & eligibility

The main address matches Tachikawa’s ordinary fee-support list and Tokyo’s standards-compliance certificate list for unlicensed childcare facilities. Household childcare need, residence, age and tax conditions still apply. The annex at 6-16-8 has a separate registration; main-campus evidence cannot substitute for it.
