Hug Me International School — YOKOHAMA / Okano
Hug Me’s Okano preschool combines English-medium care, play and themed activities. Yokohama’s list confirms that Sunrise Kids Yokohama became Hug Me on 2024-04-01: this is one campus.
Admissions & ages
The 2027 intake lists birth ranges: age-2 class 2024-04-02–2025-04-01; age-3 2023-04-02–2024-04-01; age-4 2022-04-02–2023-04-01; age-5 2021-04-02–2022-04-01, with 12 children per class. This specific intake starts at age 2, conflicting with the site banner’s age 1. Apply after a briefing or visit, then assessment and a family interview. Midyear age-4/5 applicants have English checks. The 2026-10-17 briefing starts at 10:00 and accommodates 15 families; this is not a vacancy count. Its October date also conflicts with the generic results-before-September wording.
Curriculum & language
The school describes daily learning and interaction in English, with separate Japanese lessons and exceptions for particular events. Its curriculum draws on Japan’s nursery-care guidelines, with LittleSEED for the age-3 class and GrapeSEED from age 4. Dance, swimming and outings broaden activities. Japanese-lesson frequency and swimming language remain unverified; the provision is not claimed to be absolutely all-English.
Schedule & care
Monthly programmes run Monday–Friday: Regular 09:00–16:00 (7 hours), Long 08:00–18:00 (10 hours). Japanese information gives overall opening as 07:45, while English says 08:00; the earlier charging arrangements are unknown. Younger classes have different schedules. Current holidays, holiday care, half-days and reduced-week options need checking.
Campus & daily life
The campus is at Crescent TF 1F, 2-15-31 Okano, Nishi-ku, Yokohama. The school quotes a 10-minute walk from Yokohama’s west exit or 5 minutes from Hiranumabashi. Allergy arrangements require individual discussion. Current bus stops, ages, seats and return times, plus toileting rules, are unverified.
Fees & extras
The Japanese table visible on 2026-10-14 has no confirmed fee year. For age-3 classes upwards, monthly Regular is JPY 122,000 or Long 143,000, plus materials JPY 5,500/month; admission is 160,000 and non-refundable even on cancellation. Extension is 700/hour. Listed dance and swimming charges have unverified compulsory status; meals, snacks and buses cost extra. Childcare fees are tax-exempt; other listed charges include tax. The English page contains conflicting price tables. Confirm the applicable quote, other refunds and withdrawal terms; monthly fees are not annualised.
Support & eligibility
This is an unlicensed childcare facility, not a licensed Japanese kindergarten. Yokohama’s list as of 2026-08-31 confirms the campus for ordinary support. From 2026-10-01, monthly caps are JPY 40,300 for age-3–5 classes with childcare-need certification, or 45,700 for age-0–2 classes with that certification and resident-tax-exempt households; residence rules also apply. Separately, the campus is listed for Yokohama’s diverse-group-activities support: the lower of eligible paid fees and 20,000/month, for Yokohama residents enrolled on the month’s first day, aged 3 until primary school; the birthday-based starting month needs checking. The normal attendance conditions are 4 to under 8 hours/day, at least 5 days/week and 39 weeks/year. Regular’s 7 hours permits further checks; Long’s 10 hours must not be assumed eligible. Recipients or planned recipients of ordinary support in the same month are excluded. Admission, facilities, extension, meals and transport are excluded expenses. Neither route guarantees an amount or a universal net fee.
