Kids International Musashikosugi offers English-medium preschool care. It transferred to franchise operator 株式会社Spinach and relocated in 2025-09; the former premises are not a separate school.
Admissions & ages
Kindergarten covers age-3–5 classes; Preschool lists the age-2 class, although the website says 2–3. Readiness starts at 1 year in campus information, versus 1 year 6 months on its course page. Baby Steps, from 6 months, requires a parent. Year-round entry depends on vacancies; visits and free trials are available.
Curriculum & language
English extends through lessons, play, meals and everyday interaction. Monthly themes, stories, phonics, literacy, mathematics and STEAM use hands-on activities and Raz-Kids reading. The published hour-by-hour Kindergarten example belongs to Higashi-Azabu. The Aoba-Japan International School partnership neither guarantees admission nor confers that school’s accreditation.
Schedule & care
Readiness/Preschool offer 3/4/5 days weekly: Half Day 10:00–14:00 (4 hours) or Full Day 09:00–17:00 (8 hours). Kindergarten runs 5 days: Half Day 09:00–14:00 (5 hours) or Full Day 09:00–17:00 (8 hours). Half Day covers circled calendar weekdays; Full Day also includes childcare-only provision on non-circled weekdays. Exact holiday and extension arrangements need checking.
Campus & daily life
STEPS-2 2F, 27-6 Imai Minamicho, Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki, is an 8-minute walk from Musashi-Kosugi’s Tokyu south exit. Bring lunch or order for JPY 550; snacks cost 110. Diapers are accepted; allergies need individual discussion. Parents use Codmon, phone or email. A campus bus is unverified.
Fees & extras
From 2026-04-01, Kindergarten costs JPY 120,000/month Half Day or 159,000 Full Day. Extras: admission 220,000; registration 3,300; annual materials 23,800 plus 500/month; initial uniform 15,800 and starter kit 8,800. Renewal is 1,650 from year 2, with later frequency unverified. Kindergarten spot care is 1,400/hour. Preschool/Kindergarten tuition is tax-exempt; Japanese and English PDFs conflict on Readiness tax treatment. Spot care is also tax-exempt; other listed charges include tax. Confirm refunds and withdrawal terms.
Support & eligibility
Kawasaki confirms this unlicensed childcare facility at its new address under the new operator from 2025-09-01. From 2026-10-01, national monthly caps are JPY 40,300 for age-3–5 classes and 45,700 for age-0–2 classes in resident-tax-exempt households. Both require childcare-need certification; residence and eligible paid fees also matter. Kawasaki-certified-nursery local additions remain unverified; this does not rule out all other support. No universal net fee is established.
