Caterpillar is 14 months–2 years, Chrysalis 2–3, Butterfly 3–4, Big Bug 4–5 and Super Bug 5–6. Bugs must turn 4/5 respectively by 2026-08-31 for 2026–27; younger-class cutoffs are unverified. Applications are year-round, subject to vacancies. Local applicants visit together, apply online and take a paid 3-day trial. Bugs’ English beginners require assessment; Super Bug may require extra tuition. Super Duper Bugs continuation at 6 needs individual permission. Primary progression is not guaranteed.
Curriculum & language
Immersion verification covers Caterpillar, Chrysalis, Butterfly, Big Bug and Super Bug. Learning includes phonics, mathematics, science, arts and independence. Current Japanese for Butterflies (JFB) is an optional separate Japanese subject, 12:50–13:50 after the English core. Historical JLIP material described 2 full Japanese days; whether that version continues is unknown, so it cannot be described as currently 50/50. British frameworks do not establish accreditation.
Schedule & care
Younger classes run 08:45–13:45; Butterfly 08:50–13:50, for 2–5 days weekly. Bugs requires 5 days, Monday–Friday 08:40–14:40. All Day is 08:40–17:00; Parent Support 08:00–19:00. Early-care pages conflict between 07:30 and 08:00. Care after 17:00 requires booking. School holidays apply, including the 2026-10-12–2026-10-16 half-term closure.
Campus & daily life
The address is 5-13-39 Shirokanedai, Minato-ku, near Shirokanedai Exit 1. The access page gives conflicting 10/15-minute walks from Meguro. Kiwi Kitchen offers vegetarian/vegan meals; Bugs may bring food under school restrictions. Younger children receive nappy, toileting and nap support.
Fees & extras
For 2026–27, 5-day annual tuition is JPY 2,531,250 for Butterfly, 2,925,000 for Bugs, 3,375,000 for All Day and 3,825,000 for Parent Support. All exclude applicable consumption tax. One-time membership is 200,000 and the annual fee 125,000. Standard 5-day fees qualify for 10% early-payment discount by invoice deadlines; All Day/Parent Support do not. Term 2/3 prices may change, but prepaid prices are honoured. Meals, uniforms, trials and additional English support need separate pricing.
