Programmes and who they suit
Provider-supplied information includes elementary–G12, MYP/IGCSE support and experienced teachers. This does not mean every tutor covers every grade or course; confirm your specific needs with MichiEdu.
- Pre-IB · Foundations before DP — Maths, science and English support based on current understanding and goals. For MYP or IGCSE, share the syllabus and confirm which tutor can help.
- IB Diploma · Match the subject and SL/HL level — Availability varies across maths AA/AI, sciences, languages and humanities. Ask about IA, EE or TOK support; assessed work remains the student’s own, with no writing on their behalf.
- SAT · Math and Reading & Writing — Choose a tutor for the section and goals you need. SAT has a separate tutor rate; do not use IB or Pre-IB prices as its quote.
Consider readiness for regular online learning, then confirm a tutor is available for the required subject, level, language and time.
Teaching format and arrangements
- English, Japanese or Mandarin, depending on the tutor. Not every tutor teaches in all three.
- Book around tutor availability. Check Japan time (JST) and the time difference for tutors based abroad.
- Check devices and connection in advance. A written report covers the lesson, homework and next steps; ask about its language and access.
- Interview screening and reports after each lesson are provider-described practices.
Fees and introductory options
Pre-IB starts at ¥4,500/hour. IB is approximately ¥6,500–10,000/hour, depending on the tutor.
- IB prices vary by tutor, subject and SL/HL. Pricing-page examples are not a universal quote; check the profile and booking confirmation.
- Pre-IB and SAT each have their own tutor hourly rate. Prices scale with 60/90/120-minute duration; confirm the final amount in the profile and booking. The provider states no sign-up or subscription fee.
- Families who complete registration by 15 November 2026 receive their first 60-minute lesson free. This is the registration deadline, not a deadline to take the lesson.
- The Terms describe a free 15–20-minute Meet and Greet to get to know a tutor; it is not a lesson. For a trial, confirm the current price and eligibility before booking.
Enquiries and booking
- Share your goals — Prepare the grade, syllabus, SL/HL, preferred language and available times. Ask for help if unsure which tutor to choose.
- Confirm the tutor, rate and time — Browse profiles and availability, then check the subject, duration and price before requesting a booking. The tutor confirms or declines it.
