Showa Women’s University Affiliated Komazawa Park International Preschool (KPIP) — Fukasawa Campus(原KPIS)

KPIP, formerly KPIS/Forest Kindergarten, became a directly operated educational facility of the Showa Women’s University school corporation on 2026-04-01. It continues at the same Fukasawa site and admits girls and boys.

Admissions & ages

Independent attendance covers 18 months–6 years. September 1 placement ages are Acorn 18 months+, Walnut 2, Maple 3, Pine 4 and Oak 5. At least 1 parent must speak fluent English; Y3–5 applicants have their English assessed. Enquire through OpenApply, attend the required information session/visit, apply and attend a family interview. Admission depends on vacancies; primary-school progression is not guaranteed.

Curriculum & language

Child-led, uninterrupted play combines outdoor exploration, stories and practical mathematics. The grounds and adjacent Komazawa Olympic Park support daily outdoor exploration. Specialist activities include weekly library/music, pottery twice monthly, PE and termly gardening. A 2025 university report directly describes everyday English use; 2026 continuity is supported by the same site/principal and current English-language admissions. Current subject-by-subject language shares and Japanese lessons remain unconfirmed.

Schedule & care

Monday–Friday, 08:45–14:20; Acorn/Walnut nap. Early care starts at 08:15. On regular school days, after-school care runs 14:40–17:00 or 18:30, with fixed 4/5-day schedules using one consistent end time; occasional places depend on availability. Holiday programmes are separate.

Campus & daily life

Address: 2-12-16 Fukasawa, Setagaya-ku. Buses cover Setagaya, Meguro, Ota and Shibuya, with attendants and seatbelts; stops are subject to confirmation. Fees & extras

For 2026–27, Y3–5 tuition is JPY 770,000/term, with 3 terms. One-time registration/development charges are 306,900/256,300; annual maintenance/IT charges are 138,600/33,000. These four charges are non-refundable; annual-fee wording specifies new pupils, leaving continuing-pupil applicability unclear. Midterm tuition is prorated weekly, except September entrants pay the first term in full. Care, meals and buses cost extra. Meal charges explicitly cover 2026–27; care/bus fee tables do not separately state their applicable year.

Support & eligibility

School-corporation operation does not establish Article 1 licensed-kindergarten status. Neither the current/old name nor this address was matched in the ordinary childcare-support list dated 2026-08-01. This does not mean all assistance is unavailable. No alternative programme approval is confirmed; household residence and eligibility require separate checks.
