Tesoro International School — Ichigaya Campus

Tesoro’s Ichigaya Day Program serves children from age 2 to primary-school entry. English is the shared language throughout school life, except in emergencies.

Admissions & ages

Families first arrange a visit and trial, then apply and complete enrolment and payment steps. Current vacancies, a common birthday cutoff, and child/parent language or passport requirements remain unconfirmed. Older recruitment notices cannot establish current availability. Published graduate destinations do not establish guaranteed primary-school progression.

Curriculum & language

The programme combines IEYC inquiry, Jolly Phonics and activities inspired by Reggio Emilia. Days include circle time, phonics or other subject lessons, projects, stories and nearby park visits when weather permits. No separate Japanese class was verified. The school’s bilingual-development aim is not evidence of equal English/Japanese teaching or a guaranteed outcome.

Schedule & care

The regular day is 9:00–14:00, normally 5 days weekly. Attendance on 3 or 4 days is a transition towards 5 days. The current fee page lists care until 18:00 Monday–Thursday and 17:00 Friday, with 8:45–9:00 early care booked 2 days ahead. Older pages give different times; confirm your arrangement. Weekends, public holidays and designated school vacations are closures.

Campus & daily life

Address: City Ichigaya 103, 2-38-3 Ichigaya-Tamachi, Shinjuku-ku. The school gives directions from Ichigaya’s Yurakucho/Namboku Line Exit 5; walking time and bus availability are unverified. Children may bring lunch or order delivery. The school says allergy accommodation is possible, but specific allergens and cross-contact procedures need confirmation. Afternoon School’s toilet-training condition should not be applied to the Day Program.

Fees & extras

No applicable school year is stated. The listed 5-day monthly fee is JPY 109,700; entry is JPY 92,400 once and facilities JPY 38,500 annually. Extended care is JPY 1,166 per hour; optional 5-day lunch is JPY 14,000 monthly. Required clothing includes a JPY 1,870 T-shirt and JPY 3,080 hat. The page generally says tax-inclusive, but labels the hat tax-exclusive, leaving its final price unresolved. The advertised JPY 70,000 subsidy deduction is an example, not a universal net fee.

Support & eligibility

This facility matches Shinjuku’s national childcare-support list, and Tokyo’s list confirms a certificate of compliance with supervision standards for an unlicensed childcare facility. This is different from licensed-kindergarten status. Household childcare-need approval, residence, age, tax and eligible-cost conditions determine actual support.

TBD

Confirm the fee year, hat tax treatment, refunds and withdrawal notice. · Ask about vacancies, birthday cutoff, language/passport conditions and Day Program toilet training. · Confirm early/extended hours, the full calendar and any bus service. · Check allergy arrangements and your household’s subsidy amount.
