Willowbrook International School — Motoazabu / Regular Program
Willowbrook’s Motoazabu Regular Program offers play-based, inquiry-led early education. This entry covers Regular only.
Admissions & ages
Kaze covers 15 months–2 years, Yuki 2–3, Tsuki 3–4 and Hana 4–5. The 2026/27 and 2027/28 forms have distinct birthday tables; Kaze’s actual minimum remains 15 months. Admissions are rolling, with a visit, application and parent interview; selection considers language, age and gender balance rather than application order alone. Current places are unconfirmed. The 2027/28 form requires at least 1 parent/guardian to communicate in English and toilet training for Tsuki/Hana. Children learning English as an additional language may apply; alternative identification can replace a passport. Primary progression is not guaranteed.
Curriculum & language
Regular uses English for learning and everyday activities, with separate daily Japanese lessons lasting 10–30 minutes. Teachers document learning through observations, portfolios and family conferences. Dual Immersion’s 50/50 English/Japanese teaching is excluded from the immersion finding. IB confirms PYP authorization from 2017-12-08; this establishes neither Japanese administrative licensing nor separate authorization for every youngest class.
Schedule & care
Full days run 08:15–14:00; 08:15–12:30 is Kaze-only. Kaze/Yuki/Tsuki offer Monday–Friday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday; Hana offers 5 days or Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Younger children nap/rest at 12:30–13:30. Sora runs 14:00–18:00 for enrolled pupils only, billed in 1-hour increments; requesting it does not secure a place. The 2026/27 year runs August 2026–June 2027; closure dates need checking.
Campus & daily life
Address: 2-14-28 Motoazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0046; approximately 10 minutes on foot from Hiroo or Azabu-juban. Outdoor activities use a public park. Lunch/snacks appear in the schedule; provision and costs are unverified. Allergies do not determine admission, but severity must be declared; universal accommodation is not promised. Bus provision is unconfirmed.
Fees & extras
The one-time, non-refundable application fee is JPY 22,000 including tax. The registration fee is also one-time/non-refundable, but its amount, current tuition, annual charges and Sora rates remain unverified; old fee sheets are not current prices. The latest 2026/27 form allows 1 or 2 payments: August–December was due 2026-05-18; January–June 2027 is due 2026-11-25. Tuition is non-refundable, including closures beyond school control. No annual or subsidy-adjusted total is calculated.
Support & eligibility
Ordinary unlicensed-childcare benefit eligibility and Japanese administrative status remain unverified: Minato’s current facility PDF returned 403. IB authorization does not establish eligibility. This does not mean all support is unavailable. Other municipal support and household residence, childcare need, age/tax conditions require separate checking.
TBD
Current fee schedule, tax beyond the application fee, withdrawal notice and proration. · Vacancies, Sora capacity and Kaze’s actual start date against birthday grouping. · Meal arrangements, allergy support, buses and exact school closures. · Government registration, facility eligibility and household-specific support.
