Editorial introduction
One theme, viewed from two perspectives: the Science Museum explores disasters, local traditions and modern science, while the National Archives of Japan, about a 200-meter walk away, examines yokai and mythical creatures through Edo-period documents. This is more than a yokai-themed entertainment exhibition; it connects Japanese culture, historical memory and science.
- The November 1 yokai workshop at the Science Museum uses same-day numbered tickets, with a separate workshop fee and museum admission. A related lecture at the National Archives of Japan is scheduled for November 4; details are to be announced.
- The two venues have different opening days. Do not apply one excludedDates list to both venues for the overall listing; display the rules for each venue separately.
- Science Museum: October 16–December 6, 2026, 9:30–16:50; last admission 16:00. Closed October 21 and 28, and November 4 and 11. Listed admission rates: adults ¥950; ages 65+ ¥850; junior- and senior-high-school students ¥600; ages 4+ ¥500. Booking conditions are not stated. Recommended for school-age children; this is not an official age restriction.
- National Archives of Japan: October 16–December 6, 2026, 9:15–17:00. Closed October 19 and 26, and November 2, 9, 16 and 24; open November 23 and 30. Free admission, no booking required. Recommended for school-age children; this is not an official age restriction.
