Reviews

Highlights

I appreciated watching the dolphin show in the cool indoor space.
The jellyfish tank felt dreamlike; I could watch it without getting bored.

Drawbacks

We arrived at opening, which helped, but it became crowded very quickly.
We got confused about the route several times.
For the price, I did not find the overall experience particularly impressive.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as Shinagawa Aquarium?

No. Maxell Aqua Park is inside Shinagawa Prince Hotel by Shinagawa Station’s Takanawa Exit. Shinagawa Aquarium is near Omori-kaigan Station. Their tickets are not interchangeable.

Can I enter with a stroller?

Yes. Lifts and ramps are available, although part of the route runs against the usual flow. There is stroller parking but no stroller rental.

Are there nursing and nappy-changing facilities?

A nursing room is in The Stadium on level 2, and six changing locations are listed across the aquarium. Check on-the-day guidance too.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

The listed Klook ticket needs a live voucher on an internet-connected phone, validated by staff. Log in beforehand and do not mark it used yourself.

How wet do the front rows get at the dolphin show?

Visitors report getting soaked even with a poncho. Choose rear seats if staying dry matters; for front seats bring spare clothes and protect phones and bags.

What facilities are there for families?
  • Rainy days:Fully indoors; about two minutes from Shinagawa Station's Takanawa Exit with a short outdoor walk
  • Toilets and nursing:Two accessible toilets, one nursing room and six changing locations
  • Food:Cafe and shop available; outside food and drink are not permitted
  • Strollers:Strollers allowed; lifts, ramps and parking provided, but no rental
